Khyber Pakhtunkhwa News in Urdu – History

In ancient times, the land of Gandhara was inhabited by Mount Peshawar and its environs. This empire was important because it was ideally located east of Khyber Pass. Gandhara was annexed to the Persian kingdom of Achaemenian in the early 6th century BC. And remained a Persian official until 327 BC. The area then passed successively under the kingdoms of Greece, India, Indo-Bactria, Saka, Parthia, and Kusha.

The current province is on the borders of the Ghaznavid dynasty. From the end of the 13th century, the area was occupied by the Sultanate of Ghūrid, various Muslim kings of Afghanistan, and then Emperor Mughal. After the attack of the Iranian emperor Nādir Shah in 1738, the area remained under the control of the state of Durrānī, Afghanistan. Around 1818, the Sikhs invaded the Indian Punjab area and gradually took control of the border area until the British arrived in 1849.

The northwestern border areas were annexed to India after the Second British War (1848-49). After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the area was still a separate province of Pakistan. However, Pakistani law has not been placed on tribal residents who are further west on the Afghan border. In the 1980s, the province was full of Afghan refugees seeking asylum after the Soviet invasion of the country. The tribal areas, formerly known as the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) from 1970-2018, have also become an important step for mujahideen fighters arriving in Afghanistan (see Afghanistan War). Following the fall of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan in 2001, tribal areas became a refuge for the Taliban and mujahideen fighters. Peshawar news today in Urdu
