Parliament passes SC Practice and Procedure Bill 2023 despite opposition

Islamabad, April 10 (Online): The Parliament passed the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill 2023 sent back by the President on Monday by majority vote.

Tehreek-e-Insaf senators raised slogans in the House against the bill and surrounded the Speaker Dice and tore copies of the bill.

Federal Law Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar presented the bill in the House, which included some amendments by Shiza Fatima Khawaja, which were approved by the House.

The Law Minister read out the objections of the President and sent back the bill in the House and said that the President has become a worker of Tehreek-e-Insaf instead of the head of the state.

On this occasion, Tehreek-e-Insaf senators came out of their seats in front of the Speaker’s dice s and protested.

However, the House passed the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill despite protest. The bill was sent back to the Parliament by the President without his signature.

If the President does not sign it within a day, this bill will automatically become a law.
