Ghotki: A criminal case has been registered against 12 police personnel for alleged negligence that allowed two wanted bandits, Rahib Shar and Morio Shar, to escape in Ghotki.
The two suspects fled on Monday after being brought before a civil court in Ubauro. Authorities had announced a reward of Rs5 million for information leading to the arrest of Rahib Shar.
Police said the case was registered at Ubauro Police Station on behalf of the state.
Security forces also launched an overnight operation to recapture the fugitives in the riverine area. However, flooding in the Indus River’s kacha belt hampered the operation.
