Islamabad: Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds swept across the federal capital on Sunday, bringing relief from the heat but disrupting normal life and affecting several flight operations.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), more heavy rainfall is expected today in Islamabad, upper Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with the possibility of isolated torrential downpours.
Adverse weather conditions also disrupted air travel, with several flights experiencing delays and operational difficulties due to poor visibility and strong winds.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during periods of heavy rainfall, while travelers are encouraged to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight schedules before heading to the airport.
