“I Still Don’t Know How I Became Successful,” Says Atif Aslam

Karachi: Internationally acclaimed Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has admitted that he still does not know how he achieved such extraordinary success in the music industry.

With more than 11 million followers on social media, Atif is widely celebrated for his soulful and emotionally powerful singing. His most popular songs include Aadat, Kuch Is Tarah, Bakhuda and Dil Diyan Gallan, among many others.

Fans particularly admire his distinctive voice and his ability to reach high notes with remarkable ease.

Atif recently appeared in an interview with a well-known Indian YouTube channel, where he spoke openly about fame, success and whether he had ever considered leaving music.

Discussing his rise to fame, Atif said he had no idea how his success happened.

“I knew nothing. I had no idea how I became successful, and even today, I don’t know how it all happened,” he said.

He explained that after releasing one song, an artist begins wondering what to do next. After a second song, the artist may fear that people no longer like their work. However, he said the situation becomes more challenging after releasing an album because it creates a greater sense of responsibility.

Atif said many people attribute success to hard work, but he does not believe that any extraordinary effort on his part was responsible for his achievements.

“Allah takes you exactly where He wants to see you. That is what fame or success is,” he remarked.

Addressing speculation about leaving music, Atif said he had never considered quitting music or retiring from singing. He acknowledged, however, that artists sometimes experience creative stagnation and described it as a necessary part of their journey.

“There comes a time when you feel empty,” he explained. “As an artist, you must pass through a phase when you face a creative block and cannot write anything.”

Atif added that eventually, an artist begins to feel creatively fulfilled again.

“A time comes when you feel that the cup is full. You sit quietly, thank Allah and enjoy that feeling,” he said.
