Srinagar mosque remains sealed on fifth Friday, Mirwaiz continues under house arrest

SRINAGAR Nov 10 (Online): The occupying administration in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir of India kept the historic Srinagar mosque closed for the fifth consecutive Friday and did not allow people to offer Friday prayers in the mosque.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Anjuman Awqaf mosque has said in a statement issued in Srinagar that the occupation administration has feared that the Friday prayer gathering in the Masjid mosque may turn into a protest against India and Israel.

Friday prayer has been banned for 5 consecutive weeks.

Anjuman Awqaf has also strongly condemned the continuous house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the senior leader of All Party Hurriyat Conference by the occupying administration.

For the fourth consecutive Friday, the occupying administration detained renowned religious scholar Syed Hadi Mousavi at his residence in Budgam and did not allow him to lead Friday prayers.
