Prime Minister AJK seeks full implementation of cybercrime, social media laws: Visits TEVTA head office

Muzaffarabad(PID, AJK) Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan has said directed the law enforcement authorities to ensure full implementation of cybercrimes and social media laws to bring to justice all those involved in insidious character assassination campaign on social media platforms.

Chairing a high-level meeting on cybercrimes and social media laws here on Saturday the PM directed that work should be done in accordance with international standards in this regard. In order to evolve a comprehensive strategy, he said, “service of SSP rank officers, especially those who have served in FIA should be hired to chalk out a legal framework (laws) to tackle this issue effectively at the state level”. The Prime Minister said that work should be done in line with international standards. The Additional IG on the occasion assured the Prime Minister that in the light of his instructions, work on cyber crimes and social media laws would be started without any delay.

During the meeting the prime minister was given a detailed briefing on cybercrimes and the implementation of social media laws in Azad Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by the PM’s Principal Secretary Ehsan Khalid Kayani, Additional IG Tahir Qureshi, Commissioner Muzaffarabad Masood ur Rahman, DIG Muzaffarabad Irfan Masood Kashfi and others.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan along with Minister of Education and Education Dewan Ali Chaghatai visited the head office of AJK TEVTA.

On the occasion, the PM iinspected different sections of the institution and interacted with the students receiving training at the institute.

The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir also inspected a variety of arts and crafts including Namda, Gabba, Shawls at the display center and expressed satisfaction satisfaction over the quality and standard of the artefacts.

On this occasion, a briefing was also given to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir by the officials of TEVTA Department. The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the Department of Education and gave instructions for further improvement.

While talking to the staff and students, the Prime Minister said that technical education was the best source of employment. He said that the government would utilize all available resources to make Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority a modern institution so that it can provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth by providing them with technical education.

In order to promote Kashmiri handicrafts, the PM said that there was a dire need that display centers should be established at different places wherein products manufactured under the auspices of TEVETA could be displayed.

“Kashmiri handicrafts such as Namda, Gabba, Wood Carving and Shawl weaving should be introduced in Pakistan and other parts of the world”, the PM said.
