Lahore: The upward trend in cotton prices continues, with an increase of Rs400 per maund recorded during the past week.
Cotton prices have reached Rs18,200 per maund in Punjab and Rs17,700 per maund in Sindh.
Meanwhile, the cotton crop is facing difficulties due to a record rise in temperatures across the cotton-growing zones.
The Agriculture Department has advised farmers to shorten irrigation intervals and apply light watering to protect the crop.
