Police arrest suspect for harassing and blackmailing married woman in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Jun 21 (APP):Police have arrested a man accused of harassing and blackmailing a married woman and hurling threats to kill her. According to police spokesperson, the suspect was taken into custody during a targeted operation after a complaint was lodged.

Pirwadhai police recovered Rs 30,000, allegedly extorted from the victim through blackmail, along with a weapon from his possession. The mobile phone used in the alleged crime was also seized. Police said the accused had been repeatedly harassing and blackmailing the woman, forcing her to hand over money under threats of violence. The suspect will be challaned in court with solid evidence, SP Rawalpindi Saad Arshad stated that harassment, exploitation, abuse, or violence against women and children is “unacceptable” and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Further investigation is underway.
