CDA yet to recover Rs58b from ‘defaulter’ govt depts

ISLAMABAD – January 24 (ONLINE): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is due to recover amount worth over Rs58 billion from different government department, private news channel revealed Monday.

Media report, quoting the interior ministry said that number of federal institutions were defaulters of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) worth over Rs58 billion.

Interior Ministry, according to the media report had submitted the details about the defaulter institutions before the federal cabinet.

Private news channel while citing sources said that Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), WASA, universities and Radio Pakistan were among the defaulters.

News channel’s report also revealed that the CDA has been facing an immense difficulties to recovering these arrears.

The CDA sought legal permission to cancel allotments and seal the defaulter premises.

CDA has been given permission to shift Rs1.90 billion from Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) to CDA.
