Cabinet extends deployment security agencies in GB

ISLAMABAD 17 July (Online): Federal cabinet has extended one year in deployment of security agencies in Gilgit Baltistan (GB).

Cabinet has approved the extension of deployment of army, rangers, GB scouts and FC in Gilgit Baltistan. Federal cabinet had approved the summary of Interior Ministry through circulation.

Ministry of Interior had requested to GB government for extension in deployment for internal security.

The deployment of Pakistan Army in GB has been extended by one year till June 30, 2024.

The army will be deployed in security including CPEC projects, Karakoram highway.

The deployment of Punjab rangers in Gilgit Baltistan has also been extended by one year.

The deployment of rangers will be extended till 24 October 2024.

The deployment of Frontier Constabulary in Gilgit Baltistan has also been extended for one year till 30 June 2024.

The deployment of GB scouts has been extended for one year till 30 June 2024.

The deployment of some Platoons of GB scouts will be extended till 23 August 2024.
