Blazing Heat Sparks Fire on UK Railway Tracks, Forcing Evacuation of Busy London Station

London: A fire caused by extreme heat erupted on railway tracks in the United Kingdom, forcing authorities to evacuate one of London’s busiest railway stations and temporarily suspend train services.

According to British media reports, Stratford Station in London was suddenly evacuated by officials and remained temporarily closed until 7:00 p.m. More than 60 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze on the railway tracks and carry out rescue operations.

The London Fire Brigade said emergency crews safely evacuated hundreds of passengers from trains that had come to a halt due to the fire. The incident caused major disruption across Transport for London and the National Rail network, leaving commuters stranded and facing significant travel delays.

Train services on the Elizabeth, Mildmay, and Jubilee lines were suspended as firefighters worked to bring the situation under control and ensure passenger safety.

The incident comes as the United Kingdom continues to experience an intense heatwave, with temperatures steadily rising. Several other European countries are also expected to face extreme weather conditions, with forecasts predicting temperatures of up to 40°C, raising concerns over wildfires and heat-related disruptions across the continent.
