Ezra Miller to Shah Rukh Khan: Actors who played double roles in superhero movies

ISLAMABAD, April 26 (Online): Landing a role as a superhero is no easy task. But, these few lucky actors hit the jackpot as they were cast in two prominent roles in the same film. From Ezra Miller taking on a double role in ‘The Flash’ to Shah Rukh Khan playing a scientist and superhero in ‘Ra.One’, here’s a list of actors who played double roles in superhero movies.

Ezra Miller’s long-awaited film ‘The Flash’ is finally gearing up for its 16 June release. On Wednesday, fans were treated to a new trailer that gave us a good look at the two characters that the actor will be playing.

Ezra will return as Barry Allen who uses his superpowers to go back in time in an attempt to change the past and save his parents. But, things go awry and he finds himself stuck in a very different reality where he comes across another version of himself in a universe where General Zod returns to destroy the planet.

Shah Rukh Khan was one of the first Bollywood stars to take on a double role in a superhero film. The actor played the role of the genius scientist Shekhar Subramanium and also suited up to play the hero G.One in the film.

Jonathan Majors has been courting controversy since his arrest on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment. The actor bagged one of the biggest roles in the MCU when he was cast as the villain Kang. He first made his appearance as another version of the same character named He Who Remains in the hit series ‘Loki’. He will return in the upcoming ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’.

Hrithik Roshan and dad Rakesh Roshan gave India one of its most-loved heroes with the Krrish franchise. The film sees Hrithik take on the role of scientist Rohit Mehra and the role of the trench-coat-wearing superhero Krrish.

Chris Evans also took on a double role in the blockbuster hit ‘Avengers: Endgame’. The film that saw the heroes go back in time to collect the Infinity Stones in order to bring back the victims of Thanos’ snap, saw Evans’ Steve Rogers go up against Steve from 1970 in order to collect the tesseract.

Superstar Rajinikanth also played a dual role in the film Robo. He played the scientist Vashikaran and his superhero robot creation Chitti. The film went on to become a blockbuster at the box office.
