Deva first look: Shahid Kapoor to play a cop in new film, to release on Dussehra next year

Islamabad OCTOBER 24 (Online): Deva will star Pooja Hegde and will be directed by Malayalam filmmakers Rosshan Andrrews. Here is more about the film.
Shahid Kapoor treated his fans on Dussehra by unveiling his first look from his new film, Deva. He also announced that the film will release on Dussehra next year. It will hit theatres on October 11, 2024. The actor is seen in a beefed up look, looking suave in a white shirt and beige pants, a stubble and shorter hair.

Shahid’s outfit hints that the actor is playing a cop in Deva. He is also seen wearing a pendant which looks like a ring. Sharing the picture on Instagram, he also wrote, “DEVA in theatres on Dussehra 11th October 2024. @hegdepooja @rosshanandrrews @shariq_patel #SiddharthRoyKapur @zeestudiosofficial @RoyKapurFilms @zeemusiccompany @Zeecinema.”

Commenting on his look, a fan wrote, “Shahid Kapoor with buzz cut, chain bracelet on wrist, white shirt and gun in his hand … what a fabulous combo.” Another wrote, “WHAT A LOOK!!!! Best of luck @shahidkapoor.” One more said, “Superb news Deva. I am very excited for this one and also excited to see you as Cop.”

Shahid stars alongside Pooja Hegde in Deva. It is directed by Rosshan Andrrews, known for Malayalam blockbusters like Salute and Kayamkulam Kochunni.
According to the producers, Deva follows a brilliant yet rebellious police officer investigating a high-profile case. As he delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal, leading him down a thrilling and dangerous path.
Taking to Instagram few days ago, production house Roy Kapur Films shared a post in which Pooja could be seen posing with Shahid, director Roshan Andrews and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Shahid is also working on his physique these days. Few days back, he shared a picture from the gym on Instagram. In the picture, he could be seen showing his biceps while standing in front of a dumbbell rack. “Happy Sunday,” he captioned the post.

Shahid’s other projects
Shahid was last seen in an action thriller, Bloody Daddy. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film streamed on the OTT platform JioCinema. This year he was also seen in his debut web series, Farzi. Shahid will reportedly also be seen in Farzi 2 but there is no official announcement on the same.
Apart from Deva, Shahid also has an untitled film with Kriti Sanon. It will hit theatres on February 9, 2024. The first look for the film showed the two actors sitting face to face on a bike on a beach.
