LOS ANGELES: Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has revealed that she was emotionally shattered following her divorce but is gradually regaining her strength and confidence, largely thanks to the support of her children.
According to an interview with Variety magazine, Jolie spoke candidly about the difficult period she experienced after separating from her former husband, Brad Pitt.
Reflecting on that challenging chapter of her life, the actress said the experience left her feeling completely broken for a time. However, she is now rediscovering the inner strength that she felt had been lost.
Jolie admitted that the divorce had a profound impact on her life and caused her to temporarily lose sight of the identity for which she had long been known. She added that she is now entering a new phase of life and moving forward with renewed determination.
The Oscar-winning actress credited her six children for helping her regain her confidence and resilience. According to Jolie, her children played the most important role in helping her recover from the emotional challenges she faced after the separation.
Expressing her happiness, Jolie said that most of her children are now nearly 18 years old and encourage her to explore the world, move forward, and continue learning new things. She noted that their love and support have helped her stand on her feet again.
Jolie made these remarks while discussing her upcoming film, in which she portrays a mother who divorces her husband, raises her children on her own, and balances the responsibilities of work and family life.
The film’s director, Alice Winocour, revealed that she developed the story with Jolie’s real-life experiences in mind, noting that there are many similarities between the actress’s personal journey and the film’s storyline.
During the film’s promotional campaign, Jolie openly shared how she overcame one of the most difficult periods of her life and emerged as a stronger and more confident woman.
