Prime Minister AJK chairs cabinet meeting

Muzaffarabad (PID, AJK) The AJK Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan here on Friday.

Besides cabinet ministers the meeting was attended by chief secretary, secretaries and other relevant officials.
The meeting gave a final nod for presenting the bill regarding the establishment of Rehmatullilalameen Authority 2022 in the Legislative Assembly.
The Cabinet also approved the deletion of Section 130 of the Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021, which defined the appointment of a judicial member of the Appellate Tribunal of Inland Revenue.
While the amendment act to change the dress codes of the High Court to be presented in the assembly was also agreed.

The Cabinet also approved the increase in compensation and amendment in categories for those who die or get wounded in traffic accidents.

In the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Local Government Act, the meeting approved an amendment regarding the recruitment setting a new age limit of youth from 18 to 40 years instead of 18 to 35 years.

On this occasion, Finance Minister Abdul Majid Khan and Finance Secretary Ismatullah Shah while briefing the cabinet about the current financial situation, said that the problems of the AJK government had multiplied owing to budgetary cuts imposed by the federal government.

Speaking on the occasion Prime Minister Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan while expressing his concern over the budget cuts of Azad Kashmir said that the AJK government would take up the matter again with the federal government.

He said that the first priority of his government was to serve the people. The Cabinet, he said, was playing an active role to serve the masses.

“Cabinet meetings are being held regularly so that people’s problems can be solved”, he said adding that his government has the honor to establish the Rehmatullilalameen Authority in Azad Kashmir.
