KARACHI 03 Nov (Online): Light to moderate rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in various cities of Sindh including Karachi starting next week, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD said a series of western disturbances will enter the region on the evening of November 4 and will remain until November 7.
Due to the system entering the country, rain is expected on November 6 and 7 in Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Chaman, Pashin, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Bolan, Sibbi, Kallat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi, Qamber Shahdadkot, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Naseerabad, Bhakkar, Leh, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, and Okara.
Thunderstorms and strong winds with a slight chance of snowfall are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan from November 4 to 7.
Meanwhile, Bajaur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshehra, Kurram, Kohat, Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang and Faisalabad are expected to receive strong winds, thundershowers, and hailstorms between November 5 and 7 while snowfall is also expected for mountainous areas.
Heavy rain is expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir, Islamabad, Potohar region, Gujarat, Gujranwala and Sialkot on November 5 and 6.
In the upper regions, including northern Balochistan, the day temperature is likely to decrease by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius and in the southern regions of the country by upto 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, as soon as the rains end, the upper regions of the country, including northern Balochistan, will likely fall under the grip of a cold wave.
