Weapons banned in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – November 25 (ONLINE) Just ahead of PTI’s much hyped long march’s arrival in Rawalpindi, the Islamabad Police on Friday said carrying any sort of weapons in federal capital’s boundaries in completely prohibited, it emerged.

“There is a complete ban on carrying weapons, including licensed, within the limits of Islamabad,” said capital police in a series of tweets Friday.

“The ban will continue for another two months. Political rallies will only be allowed to use the prescribed route.

Action will be taken against those violating the prescribed routes,” the tweet said.

“Traffic routes will be kept open in Islamabad. At some points, checking will be carried out in security perspective in view of the threat of terrorism. Faizabad, 9th Avenue and IJP Junction will remain closed and alternative routes will be provided for traffic,” the police tweeted.
