Islamabad – September 16 (Online): Election Commission of Pakistan has clarified that it is their responsibility of conducting elections as per any new method.
In a reply to NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik’s letter, ECP clarified that implementation of any new method to hold elections is ECP’s responsibility, and said that Chairman NADRA’s act was ‘disappointing’
Recently, Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik had written a letter to ECP, asking to make progress on proposed system regarding the i-voting system.
ECP, reacting to letter Thursday regretted NADRA’s ‘offensive tone’ and stated that letter gave an impression as ECP was a ‘sub-ordinate’ institution of NADRA.
NADRA should clarify why it abandoned working on i-voting system despite spending 6.65 billion rupees?
‘Who is responsible for laps in current electoral system’ ECP asked.
