IHC issues written order in contempt case against Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued a written order in contempt of court case against former prime minister Imran Khan for threatening a woman judge.

A five-member bench headed by Chief Justice IHC issued the sixteen pages written judgment.

The decision said that the court was satisfied with the apology of Imran Khan, adding that the accused had proved his good intention with his conduct and visiting the district court.

It further said that there was no reason for not giving the benefit of doubt to Imran Khan and with continuing the proceeding of contempt of court case, so the show cause notice against Imran Khan was discharged.

The detailed order further said that the court didn’t expect a such speech from a political leader. Imran Khan had appeared before the court and expressed regret on his remarks.

However, Justice Mohsin Akhter Kayani in his order said that it would be right to consider that Imran Khan was forgiven as he had rendered an apology after admitting the crime.
