Case against blocking sims of tax non filers: IHC seeks consensus date from respondents to decide the case

ISLAMABAD, May 22 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought consensus date from the respondents on the petition seeking dismissal of stay order regarding proceedings against mobile net work companies in the case against government decision in connection with blocking mobile phone sims of tax non filers so that the case could be decided as soon as possible.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamir Farooq has remarked I make it clear one thing that stay order is not on blocking sims but it was only for providing protection to petitioners.
Government is focusing on economic reforms. This step may have been taken in the perspective of these reforms.
He gave these remarks during hearing of the case here Wednesday.

The CJ IHC Aamir Farooq remarked it will be better that decision be made after hearing the central petition once. I make it clear one thing stay order is not on blocking sims. Government order on blocking sims is still in field.

He observed court can understand government is focusing on economic reforms. This step may have been taken in the perspective of these reforms.
He remarked court will try the case is decided as soon as possible. We fix any date of June for next hearing.
Do it that both the respondents should agree on one date and inform the court .

The court adjourned the hearing of the case.
