Pakistani students’ designed chip wins international popularity

LAHORE March 24 (Online): A chip designed by University of Science and Technology (UET) Lahore received welcome at International level.

 

Electric department has won the 4th position in contest held by IEEE-Solid State society among the 15 countries to design a motor control chip.

 

18 designs have been selected in which Dr. Tayyab, Dr. Tahir and Dr. Ubaid Ullah Fayaz with Umer Shahid designed won 4th position.

 

Chip has been designed under the sponsorship of Solid State Circuit Society (SSCS).

 

Solid State Circuit Society (SSCS) is an International Committee which encourages young excellent professionals for innovation and time to time held various types of contests among the students of graduate, undergraduate level to promote new ideas and research.

 

Moreover, required funding can be arranged by the investors to support students for their innovative ideas to become practical in the world of exciting challenges.

 

In this regard, Pakistan has also established an institution: National Incubation Centre (NIC) which is a bridge between entrepreneur, innovators and investors to further develop the vision of digital Pakistan.

 

NIC invites founders across Pakistan to apply in incubation window twice a year.

 

This center may promote the Team UET, which designed the ‘Motor Chip’ and Pakistan can build a huge industry on the basis of this chip.
