Rain leaves Indo-Pak women’s tie abandoned

HONG KONG 18 June (Online): The highly anticipated ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup encounter betw¬een India and Pakistan ended in disappointment as persistent rain forced the match to be abandoned here at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.

With no play possible, both teams were awarded a point each, leaving them with four points from three matches.

Despite the washout, India claimed the top spot in the table, edging past Pakistan based on their superior run-rate. The point was enough for both team to confirm a spot in the semi-finals.

The semi-final match-ups are now set, with India set to face Sri Lanka, and Pakistan going up against Bangl¬adesh on Monday. To account for the inclement weather, a reserve day has been allocated on Tuesday for the semi-finals.
