United Nations must intervene and finish its unresolved agenda of Kashmir dispute: Altaf Bhat

Islamabad 02, Jan (PNI) Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Altaf Ahmed Bhat in a press statement here in Islamabad today in reference to 5th Jan – int’l day for right of self determination- said that the United Nations (UN) should implement its resolutions on Kashmir, make India give right of self determination to Kashmiris and restore its lost reputation.

Kashmir issue is langvishing since the inception of UN, its time for a perpetual peace and stability of South Asia it must be resolved as per agreed upon UN resolutions. Chairman Bhat added.

He said that India’s occupation of Kashmir is oppressive and punitive, which the Kashmiri people have not accepted even for a moment. Thousands of our brothers and sisters have been martyred, tortured, houses demolished and businesses destroyed but the brave Kashmiris never surrendered to Indian military might.

Chairman JKSM further added that all these sacrifices have been made by the Kashmiri nation for the right of freedom for our motherland . India has taken away the right of freedom of Kashmiris by force. Every day, innocent Kashmiris are being martyred, women are raped and molested, children are terrified while youngsters are suffering from psychological traumas.

Altaf Ahmed Bhat further added that the UN and intl community should give up its double standards and recognize the right of Kashmiris to freedom. He demanded the UN to play its role in giving Kashmiris their birthright of self-determination.
Today, the Kashmiri nation renews its pledge that the freedom movement will continue until the right to self-determination is achieved.
