Homage paid to Martyrs of Kashmir by Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement

Islamabad (PNI) The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Altaf Ahmed Bhat, has paid rich tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, Abdul Ghani Bhat, martyrs of Hawal and all martyrs of Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Altaf Bhat Said that Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq was assassinated by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Srinagar on 21st May in 1990. On the same day, over 70 mourners were killed when Indian troops opened indiscriminate fire on his funeral procession in Hawal area of Srinagar.

Twelve years later on May 21 in 2002, unknown attackers had shot dead Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone when he was returning after addressing a gathering at the Martyrs’ Grave-yard in Srinagar.

On 14th may 2004 the Well-known businessman of Kashmir, the philanthropist, Abdul Ghani Bhat was martyred by unknown gunmen.

The Chairman of JKSM, in a statement said, Mir-Waiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, Abdul Ghani Bhat and other martyrs of the freedom movement are the heroes of Kashmiri people. He said the Kashmiris on the martyrdom anniversaries of these leaders vow to accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs.

Bhat added that these noble souls sacrificed their lives for a great and sacred cause of freedom. He said, they were torch-bearers of freedom movement, and their struggle, teachings and sacrifices are role models for the future generations of Kashmir.

Altaf Ahmed Bhat added besides a visionary leader, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq was a great Islamic scholar, orator and preacher who through his powerful and soul stirring sermons edu-cated and organized oppressed Kashmiris to raise their voice against the Indian oppression.

He said that Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone was a great political leader who struggled for peaceful solution of Kashmir. He was very brave, courageous and fearless leader.

Abdul Gani Bhat was famous for his contributions towards the freedom struggle and was very great soul. All of these leaders sacrificed their lives for noble cause of Kashmir.

The Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Altaf Ahmed Bhat appealed to Muslim Ummah all across the globe to held special prayers and pay homage to the Kashmiri martyrs including iconic leaders Syed Ali Shah Gilani and Muhammad Ashraf who were killed in Indian custody.

Appealing to UN, International Community and other human rights bodies at national and International level Bhat said to take cognizance of the worst situation of Kashmir when India is trying to hold the G 20 Conference in the disputed territory and turned IIOJK in to a jail, come forward to save the lives of the oppressed Kashmiris.

In his statement he made it clear that no power on earth could suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. The blood of the martyrs will never go in vain and Kashmiris will achieve their goal that is freedom from cruel clutches of India, Insha Allah.
