Maryum Aurangzeb says ‘EVM law unconstitutional’

Islamabad – December 1 (Online): Spokesperson to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Maryum Aurangzeb has said that coming general elections will not take place through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), as she termed recently passed law by parliament ‘unconstitutional’.

Reacting to a statement by Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Maryum said that Prime Minister did not have the domain to release funds for EVMs. “Funds for state institutions and general elections will be approved by parliament. By the times of next general elections, Imran Khan would fly abroad. How will he release funds?” Maryum predicted.

Maryum Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party will have ‘nothing to do with next general elections.’ “You cannot impose reforms forcefully and unilaterally” She told government.
