Mike, an American father of four grown daughters, was so eager to see them married that every weekend he invited a different friend over.
“Bring your son!” he always added. “And tell him to wear something nice.”
One Saturday, his wife found him rearranging the dinner table.
“Why have you put a young man beside each daughter?”
“Good conversation,” Mike said innocently.
“And why are there wedding brochures under the napkins?”
“Light reading.”
Halfway through dinner, Mike proudly announced, “My daughters will make wonderful wives. They’re smart, beautiful, and they all know how to keep a man happy.”
His eldest daughter smiled. “Dad, we’ve already made these four very happy.”
Mike nearly dropped his fork. “You have?”
“Yes. We told them you’ll pay for the weddings.”
All four young men grinned.
“And,” she continued, “they can live here until they can afford houses.”
The table erupted in cheers.
Mike leaned toward his wife. “This matchmaking business is getting expensive.”
She sipped her wine.
“Keep inviting men to dinner, sweetheart. Eventually, I might find one I like too.”😂🤣
