Four Old Ladies, Three Love Stories—and One Suspicious Husband

Four elderly ladies were having lunch when the conversation turned to how popular they’d been with men in their younger days.

“Oh, I was irresistible,” said Margaret. “Two young men once fought over who would take me dancing.”

“That’s nothing,” said Betty. “Three men proposed to me in the same week. I needed a diary just to schedule the rejections!”

Dorothy smiled. “When I walked into a room, every man stood up.”

The other three turned to Edith, who was quietly buttering her bread.

“Well?” Margaret asked. “Surely you have something to tell us?”

Edith nodded. “My husband hired a handsome young gardener, a handsome young chauffeur, and a handsome young man to clean the pool.”

Betty frowned. “What does that prove?”

“After six months,” Edith said, “he fired all three.”

“Because they weren’t doing their jobs?”

“Oh, they were excellent.”

“Then why?”

Edith took a sip of wine.

“Apparently, a woman who can’t remember where she put her glasses shouldn’t remember three men’s days off.”😂🤣
