Last Sunday, the entire family was sitting in the living room—Mom, Dad, Grandma, two teenagers, and little Tommy.
Nobody was talking.
Everyone was busy staring at their phones.
Dad got annoyed and said,
“From now on, no phones at family dinner!”
Everyone nodded.
Ten seconds later…
Dad created a WhatsApp group called “Dinner Discussion.”
He typed:
“Can someone please pass the salt?”
Mom replied:
“Seen.”
Their teenage daughter reacted with 👍.
Grandma accidentally sent six dancing chicken stickers.
The son replied:
“Dad, you’re sitting right across from me.”
Dad typed back:
“I’m trying to improve family communication.”
Just then, little Tommy stood up, walked over, handed Dad the salt…
…and quietly left the group.
Everyone looked confused.
Dad asked,
“Tommy, why did you leave?”
Tommy smiled and said,
“Because I’m the only one in this family who knows how to talk offline.”
The family spent another hour sitting together… texting each other from six feet away. 😄
