Third virus wave hits Punjab, says Dr Yasmin

LAHORE – Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said here on Thursday that the third wave of corona pandemic has hit Punjab.  In the last 24 hours Punjab reported 2,190 cases and since the pandemic began the number has reached 180,944.  In the last 24 hours, 33 people lost their lives, taking death toll to this day to 5662. So far in Punjab’s government hospitals, the number of people recovering from the pandemic is 1,67,967.

In the last 24 hours, the number of tests performed is 17,174 and so far a total number of 34,64,989 tests have been performed.  The Minister was speaking at a press conference at the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department. 

Present on the occasion were Secretary PSH Captain (retired), Usman Younis, Director Electronic Media DGPR Rubina Afzal and Professor Javed Chaudhry.
