ISLAMABAD, July 23 (Online): Different proposals on holding early election are being considered in view of the deteriorating political and economic situation of the country.
The powers that be will bring the government and the opposition on negotiating table.
Sources said establishment will only play the role of facilitator in initiating the talks. The government and opposition will be brought to negotiating table to hold election in October or November.
According to sources President Arif Alvi will be requested to hold the talks being head of the state.
Sources further said the agenda of the talks will include economic and electoral reforms and appointment of army chief. The former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is willing for talks. The ruling alliance has also given positive response for talks. Likewise the senior leadership of PML-N is in favor of going to election.
Sources disclosed the establishment is in contact with government and opposition people behind the scene with reference to talks. The by polls in Punjab paved the way for general election. No political interference will be made from establishment. The powers that be will only play their role in bringing the ruling alliance and opposition people to negotiating table.
President Arif Alvi is likely to write letter to all political parties.
When contacted the senior defence authorities said in this regard army should not be dragged into the politics. No offer has been made in connection with talks between government and opposition.
