Administration of oath to newly elected members on reserved seats in KP assembly: PHC orders CM KP, provincial cabinet to take steps to summon assembly

PESHAWAR, April 19 (Online); Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered Chief Minister (CM) KP Ali Amin Gandapur and provincial cabinet to take steps to summon assembly.The court has issued written order on the matter of not administering oath to newly elected members on reserved seats.

Justice S M Attique Shah has written 24 page decision wherein the court has ordered CM KP and provincial cabinet to take measures for summoning assembly session.

It has been said in the decision that speaker should administer oath to elected members on KP assembly reserved seats. Preventing 9 members of assembly from taking oath against reserved seats is violation of the constitution.

it has been said in the decision that that KP assembly be summoned within 14 days under article 105 of the constitution . The oath be administered to these newly elected members before Senate election in KP.
