Iman Mazari arrested for insulting national institutions

ISLAMABAD Aug 20 (Online): Islamabad Police arrested Iman Mazari for her speech against the country’s institutions in an organization meeting on Friday.

Former federal minister Shireen Mazari (mother of Iman Mazari) said in a statement on the social networking website X that female police and people in plain clothes took her daughter away.

She said that they asked the officers for the warrant which they did not show, they went round the whole house, we were only two women in the house, my daughter was in her night clothes, she asked the officers to let me change her clothes. But they dragged him out.

Shireen Mazari wrote that this is definitely not a warrant or a legal procedure, it is state fascism and it is a kidnapping in a way.
On the other hand, the Tarnool police station of Islamabad has confirmed the arrest of Iman Mazari.

Talking to reporters in Court premises former federal minister Shireen Mazari said officials who came to arrest her daughter have jumped over the gate to enter into house.

She said that the guard was locked in the cabin, the mobile was taken away and an attempt was made to break the door, things in my room were also groped and searched.

Shireen Mazari says that the officers dragged Iman Mazari outside, took his mobile and laptop, pulled my hand and took the mobile too.

The former federal minister said that around 20 people had entered the house, 6 female police officers were in the house. Iman and I live in the house, I don’t know why they broke the door, she was arrested without a warrant.
