LAHORE, March 10 (Online): Government step for suspension of treatment on Sehat Card in hospitals in Punjab has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).
The petition in this regard has been filed by citizen Muhammad Ijaz Khan making Punjab government, health secretary and others respondents.
The petitioner has taken plea in the petition that Punjab government extended facility of free treatment to poor patients. Sehat cards were issued to the poor patients for free treatment.
The petitioner said free treatment was provided to patients in government and private hospitals. But the free treatment on Sehat card was stopped in the hospitals after the PTI government was ousted.
Providing free treatment and education is responsibility of state.
The petitioner has requested the court to order Punjab government to provide free treatment on Sehat card.
