ISLAMABAD, March 29 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has ordered FIA to bring back daughters of actress Sofia Mirza from Dubai to Pakistan within three weeks.
The court has maintained in its order that Principal secretary to Prime Minister should get approve the summary forthwith to send FIA team to Dubai.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Maqbool Baqir took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
The actress Sofia Mirza took the plea during the hearing of the case that there are several cases in which the government has brought back people from abroad. “I am disturbed since the last 12 years that my daughters are not being brought back.
Justice Maqbool Baqir remarked as to why the daughters of Sofia Mirza have not been brought back despite lapse of so much time.
The representative of foreign ministry told the court government cannot bring back the daughters of actress Sofia Mirza. The petitioner will have to file case in Dubai in person.
DG FIA told the court summary has been sent to Prime Minister to send team to Dubai.
Justice Maqbool Baqir directed the summary be got approved from prime minister soon and team be sent to Dubai; The interior ministry personnel too will have to go along with FIA team.
The hearing of the case was adjourned for three weeks.
