ISLAMABAD, April 08 (Online): PTI has challenged election of chairman and deputy chairman of Senate in Islamabad High Court (IHC).
As many as 5 senators of PTI have filed constitutional petition in IHC for stopping the election of chairman and deputy chairman Senate. The petition said the election of chairman and deputy chairman Senate be stopped till the election for Senate seats in KP. House of federation is incomplete.
The election of chairman and Deputy chairman Senate is unconstitutional. The election of chairman Senate is against the constitutional scheme till the election of Senate seats in KP. Senate is dysfunctional due to non presence of chairman. Senate secretariat cannot take any other decision except administrative decisions. Secretary Senate cannot interpret the constitution on his own under pressure.
