Police acted after Ansar-ul-Islam workers entered Parliament lodges

ISLAMABAD, Mar 10 (APP): Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad Thursday said that police took action against the workers of Ansar ul Islam for entering Parliament Lodges without the required permission.

High alert had already been issued for peace and security of the federal capital, he said while talking to a private television channel.

Sheikh Rashid said that around 70 workers of Ansar ul Islam were present at the Parliament Lodges when the police reached there.

The police, he added, had to take action after the failure of talks with the workers of Ansar ul Islam.

He said that special security measures have been taken in the federal capital in view of the upcoming OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (OIC-CFM) meeting and the March 23 parade.

The minister said that opposition parties were now indulging in apolitical tactics because of their frustration on the no-confidence motion.
