ISLAMABAD, FEB 14 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) in its written order has issued notice to ministry of law and justice and ministry of information and broadcasting on the petition against PECA amendment act.
The court has also issued notice to ministry of information technology and interior ministry besides seeking reply from them.
The court while issuing notice to FIA and PEMRA sought reply within two weeks.
The court issued notice to Attorney General for assisting the court.
Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas issued written order to hear the petition filed by PFUJ and journalists.
It is pertinent to mention here National Assembly and Senate had passed controversial PECA amendment bill with majority vote last month.
The journalists organizations rejected PECA amendment act.
The journalists organizations have resorted to court besides holding protest rallies against PECA amendment act.
