PECA act violation : Journalist Farhan Malik handed over to FIA on 4 days physical remand

KARACHI, MARCH 22 (ONLINE): Judicial Magistrate East has handed over journalist Farhan Malik to FIA on 4 days physical remand.
As per media report , FIA had arrested journalist Farhan Malik two days before for violating PECA laws and now he has been handed over to FIA on 4 days physical remand.
Counsel for Farhan Malik while opposing the plea of FIA for physical remand said FIA has taken action against high court order.
On the other side Association of Electronic Media Editors and News Directors (AEMEND) and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists have condemned arrest of Farhan Malik.

AEMEND while terming FIA action as malafide intent have demanded immediate release of Farhan Malik saying we had already told the PECA law will be used against the journalists.
PFUJ said that that this step of FIA is open attempt to stifle freedom of expression.
President Karachi Press Club Fazil Jameeli and secretary Sohail Afzal Khan while condemning the arrest have said subjecting the anti government journalists to victimization is negation of democracy .
