LAHORE, FEB 08 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended the order regarding acceptance of resignations from 43 Members of National Assembly (MNAs) from PTI.
The petition filed by 43 MNAs of PTI against acceptance of their resignations came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Karim Wednesday.
Plea was taken in the petition that the members of assembly had withdrawn their resignations before their acceptance.
During the hearing of the case barrister Ali Zafar counsel for the PTI members of assembly said the legal requirements were not met before acceptance of the resignations.
Justice Shahid Karim inquired from barrister Ali Zafar “ tell us what law was not followed.
Barrister Ali Zafar informed the court about the procedure for acceptance of the resignations.
Later the court suspended Election Commission (EC) order on denotifying 43 MNAs of PTI and has stopped holding by polls in 43 constituencies till further order.
LHC has issued notices to election commission and other respondents to seek reply from them in this regard.
