Daily quota for flour mills doubled to meet wheat crisis: CM Punjab

LAHORE – January 8 (ONLINE) Punjab Chief Minister Chuadhry Parvez Elahi said Sunday the provincial government had doubled the daily wheat quota for flour mills to ensure sufficient provision of wheat.

In a statement issued here Sunday, the CM said sale points across the province were also doubled. He said that 26000 tons of excessive wheat on government rates will be provided to flour mills from Monday.

Elahi said increase in provision of wheat to flour mills will be helpful to reduce surging flour prices. “We are providing subsidized flour to laymen as per the Ehsas program,” he maintained.

The Chief Minister said to avail this targeted subsidy, people can register them to Ehsas program through their National Identity Card number.
