Court rejects IK’s pleas in Toshakhana reference case

ISLAMABAD, April 5 (Online): The court of Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar Khan, rejected both the applications of Imran Khan and set the date of indictment on May 10 against the former prime minister in the Toshakhana reference.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris, while the Election Commission’s lawyer Amjad Pervez appeared before the court.

Khawaja Haris told the court in his arguments on the admissibility of the Toshahkhana case that the Election Commission has directed its office to take criminal action against Imran Khan.

On this occasion, lawyer Election Commission Amjad Parvez referred to the case related to election laws in 1996 that the election laws were also discussed in this case.

Filing a complaint for criminal action under Election Act 190 is not illegal. On this occasion, the court inquired from Imran Khan’s lawyer that his non-bailable warrant was issued by the Sessions Court, which was also rejected on appeal.

On which Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Haris pleaded with the court to adjourn the hearing till next Friday, to which Amjad Pervez, the lawyer of the Election Commission, told the court that I have no objection.
