LAHORE Aug 11 (Online): Crackdown has started again against PTI workers across Punjab. According to a media report, the decision to crack down was taken after PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement in which workers were asked to celebrate Independence Day in a grand manner.
The police officers have also been instructed that the PTI flag should not be seen at any place, media reports.
The crackdown has been started again to arrest the accused of November and March 14 incidents. According to police sources, police has compiled lists of 4082 absconding accused in 1082 Punjab areas of Lahore.
A strategy of arrests was prepared in the homes of the accused and using modern technology. Police sources say that action will also be taken against those who supported the accused. Teams consisting of four units were formed to arrest the accused.
