Islamabad – September 7 (Online): Air Chief Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar has said that Pakistan Air Force is well aware of evolving situation in the region and pledged to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and esteem at any cost.
Pakistan celebrated Air Force Day Tuesday with national zeal to commemorate the dexterity and velour of the defenders of air space of the country against Indian aggression in September 1965 war.
In the 1965 war, the valiant Pakistani pilots despite limited resources not only annihilated Indian air aggression but also inflicted humiliating defeat on India through unprecedented skill in the warfare and insurmountable courage.
The PAF’s Muhammad Mahmood Alam, commonly known as M.M.Alam, shot down five Indian Air Force Hawker Hunter Mk. 56 fighters in less than a minute.
Central ceremony of the Air Force day was held at Air Headquarters Islamabad.
Addressing the ceremony, Air Chief of Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar paid homage to the martyrs and heroes of 1965 war who showed sheer bravery and fulfilled nation’s expectations by giving a fiery and mouth-breaking answer to India’s illegal infiltration.
He also showed solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives for freedom and assured them of complete political, diplomatic and ethical support by Pakistan.
