WASHINGTON Oct 27 (Online): The US Department of Defense Pentagon has said that 2 locations used by the Iranian army in Syria have been targeted.

According to a foreign news agency, in a statement, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin called the attacks on Syria and Iraq the protection and defense of US personnel.
He said that defensive strikes in Syria are a response to the failed attacks on US forces in Iraq and Syria.
The purpose of the attack was to protect and defend American personnel in Iraq and Syria, he said.
Lloyd Austin has said that US defensive strikes are separate from the Israel-Hamas conflict.
He said that an American contractor died of a heart attack in the attacks on American soldiers.
He said that 12 soldiers have been slightly injured in attacks on American soldiers in Iraq and Syria.
