DHAKA Nov 18 (Online): Seven people died in different incidents as a result of heavy rains and strong winds caused by Cyclone Madhili in Bangladesh.
According to foreign news agencies, Cyclone Madhili hit the coastal Bangladeshi districts on Friday afternoon, which has caused widespread destruction.
Officials said that four members of the same family were killed during heavy rains in Kis, the capital city of Dhaka district. Three people lost their lives as a result of uprooted trees in south-eastern Chittogram and central Tangil districts.
As a result of the cyclone, crops have also been extensively damaged in the coastal districts. Where tens of thousands of people were moved to storm shelters.
