Hockey Association (SHA), is looking forward to putting the national game on a winning track.
Wahab, while speaking to the media after taking charge as SHA president, said he is honoured to get an opportunity to work for the betterment of hockey.

“It’s an honour for me to become the president of Sindh Hockey Association. I am really looking forward to working for the betterment of our national games,” he said.

The Mayor shared that he used to play and watch hockey when the game was at its peak in the late 90s.

“I used to play and watch hockey a lot. Our hockey legends came to me and asked me to lead hockey affairs in the province. Sometimes it is hard to revive sports without political patronage. I will try my best to play an important role in bringing hockey’s lost glory,” he concluded.

PHF eyes international series at home before Olympic Qualifiers
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is making efforts to organise an international series before Olympic Qualifiers at home.
According to the details shared by the PHF, federation’s secretary Haider

Hussain along with his delegation had met FIH’s president Tayyab Ikram. During the high-profile meeting, Asian Hockey Federation’s representative Ghulam Ghous and Punjab Hockey Association (PHA)’s secretary Asif Naz Khokhar were also present.

FIH’s president assured that the world body will help PHF organise international series in Pakistan.

“On behalf of PHF, we are in contact with different federations including Korea, Japan, and Oman. Hopefully, there will be a series in Pakistan before Olympic Qualifiers,” he said.
