KARACHI Jan 02 (Online): Famous model and actress Amina Ilyas said that fair color is given more importance in the showbiz industry.
In one of her interviews, she said that I raised my voice in support of Sanoli Rangat because I felt bad when make-up artists made me look fair with make-up.
She said that before entering the industry, I did not know that in the world people are given importance on the basis of their color.
In our house, she said, we are all swarthy people, so no one had ever said anything to us about color. She further said that when I started modeling and after getting ready for a shoot, I used to think I was looking very attractive but suddenly someone would come and put me down just because of my tanned complexion. Make-up artist bleached my complexion with make-up, so I felt very bad after seeing all this.
She said that seeing such behavior, any person can suffer from a sense of inferiority and the mental health of any person can be affected, so I pointed out this problem and raised my voice on it.
