Salman Khan house firing: Bhuj Police hand over two accused to Mumbai

NEW DELHI, April 16 (Online): The latest update on the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence reveals that the Bhuj Police disclosed on Tuesday morning that the two suspected gunmen in their custody have been transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch for ongoing investigation. The accused, Gupta and Pal, both hailing from Bihar, were apprehended through technical surveillance efforts by collaborative teams from Kutch-West and Mumbai police departments.

In the latest development in the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Bandra house, the Bhuj Police on Tuesday morning revealed that the two alleged gunmen in their custody were handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further investigation.

A press release issued by the Bhuj police stated, “West Kachchh Police arrested two individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who were responsible for firing outside the residence of actor Salman Khan on April 14.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), hailing from Bihar. The operation was executed entirely by the Bhuj police.”
The press release further elaborated, “They have been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for thorough interrogation.”

A preliminary probe suggested that both men were hired by the gang of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to open fire at Khan’s house. While Pal did the firing, Gupta was in touch with the gang members, Deputy Inspector General of Kutch-West, Mahendra Bagadiya, said.

A video shared by the cops show the two accused walking into the police station handcuffed together and surrounded by policemen.
Reports on Tuesday morning also stated that the men would be produced before the court today.
The firing incident which occurred on a Sunday morning, witnessed two unidentified assailants opening fire outside Salman’s Galaxy Apartments, before fleeing the scene on a motorbike. In the meticulously planned assault, the gunmen discharged a total of four rounds, one of which hit the wall of the actor’s house. Reports state a live cartridge was also left behind that was collected as evidence by the police’s ballistics team.
Meanwhile, Salman’s security has been beefed up. The actor’s car was spotted around the Bandra area last night, which happened to be his first public appearance since the shooting. The actor was seen surrounded by armed guards. Two police vehicles were also deployed to accompany the actor’s vehicle as he headed out of his home.
Khan has also been authorized to carry a personal firearm and has acquired a new armoured vehicle for enhanced protection.
