SAO PAULO, BRAZIL – OCTOBER 15(APP/AA):: Mural painted by the artist and activist Mundano, in a building in the central region of Sao Paulo, Brazil, on October 15, 2021.
The panel is about 1,000 m² and was painted using ashes from the fires that recently took place in the Amazon, the Pantanal and the Atlantic Forest.
The work is a reinterpretation of the “Coffee Farmer” painting, by the Brazilian painter Candido Portinari, where the farmer was replaced by a volunteer firefighter who worked to combat forest fires.
